Our Vision

The Source for Women is committed to making abortion an unnecessary choice by:

1. Target marketing to abortion-minded women and providing them with accurate information about their pregnancy and all of their options.

2. Offering professional counseling to deal with her specific issues that will alleviate her feelings that abortion is her only choice

3. Educating individuals through abstinence education about the dangers (both physically and emotionally) of a sexually active life style.

4. Placing satellite offices through out Harris County so that every woman has access to our information and our services.

5. Actively fulfilling the Great Commission so that our client’s hearts and ultimately their lives are made new by Christ making unplanned pregnancy a moot point.

6. Diversifying funding sources and acquiring new donors to fund all of these endeavors so that our vision becomes reality.

STATISTICS

24% of all abortions for the state of Texas occur in Harris County:

34% are Hispanic (Hispanics make up 37% of the population of Houston*)

32% are African American (African Americans make up 18% of the population of Houston*)

27% are Caucasian (Caucasians make up 74% of the population of Houston*)

Statistically Caucasians make up the largest percent of women seeking an abortion. Per Ratio, African American choose abortion with more frequency.

86% of all abortion occurs before the 10th week of gestation

Who is the abortion minded woman in Houston?

She is 20 -24 years old with 25-29 years old following closely

Abortion has been legal her entire life

27% Caucasian, 32% African American, and 34% Hispanic

Educated-she is either in college or a graduate

Feels as though she is going somewhere

Cognitive that it is a baby, but doesn't care

Sometimes a Christian

Doesn't want to be told what to do

She wants her life back and wants control of her destiny

Sometimes she is feeling pressure from other people.

She believes it is her body and her choice...not anyone else's
